# Reference Designs

The Enapter AEM Electrolyser and built-in Energy Management System operates in over 30 countries across various applications. Hydrogen produced and powered by our technology is used for long-term energy storage, fuel in vehicles, fuel for heating and raw materials in industry.

The flexibility of the combined technology lets you build systems of any complexity and scalability level to suit your needs. Using EMS components, users can monitor and control installations. This chapter of the Enapter Handbook will cover best practices and installation designs.

Integrators are invited to participate in the creation of unique blueprints of using Enapter EMS.

# Off-grid House

# Overview

A hydrogen hybrid off-grid provides a more reliable, economic and eco-friendly system to generating electricity. To satisfy user demand, the power produced by solar panels is used first. When that has reached peak, it moves onto the batteries. The solar panels charge batteries and when they are fully charged, excess solar from photovoltaic panels power the AEM Electrolyser to produce and store hydrogen. The hydrogen can be used by the fuel cells to generate electricity or to recharge the batteries. With the Enapter EMS, users can adopt rule-based management to assign set-points where the electrolyser operates using irradiance sensors to determine if there is excess PV. The fuel cell operation can be controlled based on predicting demand and the battery state of charge.

# Advantages

  • Remote Monitoring and Control

Manage your entire energy system via the Enapter mobile or web dashboard wherever you are.

  • Rule-based Automation

Designate places where the AEM Electrolyser operates to determine if there is excess solar to be captured and stored.

  • Push Notifications

Receive alerts directly to your device in case of potential issues like overheating.

  • Data Analytics and Insights

Customizable dashboards display real-time performance and error data to help you predict demand.

# Solar Monitoring

# Overview

The EMS enables you to control and configure a solar inverter within your current renewable energy setup. You can easily manage and monitor your solar inverter remotely via both mobile and web applications. Dashboards display information and statistics in real time including battery and PV voltage and currents, battery state of charge, battery health, grid voltage and frequency. You can alternate between different battery charging sources by setting time schedules or battery voltage thresholds. Offline mode lets voltage threshold rules work without an internet connection.

# Advantages

  • Push Notifications

Receive mobile push notifications for errors or warnings about your inverter.

  • Free and Unlimited Data Storage

Store your inverter’s data on the Enapter Cloud and access historical and real-time data on the go with per-second precision.

  • Charger Management

Determine the battery charger source by switching between Solar Only or Utility Grid modes.

  • Automatic Firmware Updates

Updates are delivered to your module automatically to keep the inverter up-to-date with minimal effort.

# Ventilation Monitoring

# Overview

Monitor and maintain optimum performance of HVAC units using the EMS. The software allows you to monitor all metrics which are delivered from HVAC systems using Modbus Protocol, such as Komfovent. Users will be warned in case of temperature, rotation or humidity readings issues. It minimizes wasted power and allows users to determine the operating state of the HVAC system. The output data from installed sensors is measured, transmitted and stored in the Enapter Cloud. This data can be analysed to help reduce the effects of humidity, for example, and ensure the HVAC installation is running optimally.

# Smart Agriculture

# Overview

It is important to monitor and predict issues with lamps, water supply and soil moisture. Enapter’s Universal Communication Modules (UCM) enable this through a unified monitoring and prediction system. Extensions deliver integral data to the Enapter Gateway and Cloud through a secure wireless connection. Farmers will have a direct link between revenue and broken lamps which provide light for the plants. Over-the-air updates ensure the UCMs support the latest protocols and security fixes.
